Originally from Boston and Cape Cod, Marcia Stremlau has lived and worked along the coasts of Maine and Cape Cod since 1970. Her acrylic paintings, watercolors, and distinctive artist's books and painted panels capture the landscapes and coastal life of Downeast Maine and Cape Cod.

She studied at the Art Students League in New York, Lake Erie College, and the College of the Atlantic, and has long been an active member of Maine's artistic community.

Stremlau shows extensively throughout Maine and has shown in New York City. She has been a returning participant at Great Spruce Head Island “Artists' Week” Residency.

Her work is represented by Handworks Gallery in Blue Hill, Meraki Gallery in Harpswell, Gallery B in Castine, and DIAA Gallery on Deer Isle, Maine.
